Galvanized Pipe Description
Galvanized pipe is a pipe made by covering the surface of steel pipe with zinc layer. It is mainly divided into hot-dip galvanized pipe and cold-dip galvanized pipe (electrogalvanized pipe). Its core characteristics are as follows:
Anti-corrosion performance: The zinc layer effectively isolates the steel pipe from the external environment, significantly improves corrosion resistance and prolongs service life. The hot-dip galvanized pipe has a thick coating (usually ≥500g/m²), tightly combined to form a zinc-iron alloy layer with strong corrosion resistance; the cold-dip galvanized pipe has a thin coating (10-50g/m²), is easy to fall off, and has been banned.
Process and standards: The hot-dip galvanizing process includes pickling, auxiliary plating, hot-dip galvanizing and other steps, which conforms to national standards such as GB/T3091-2015. The coating uniformity, tensile strength (≥335MPa), yield point and other indicators are strictly regulated.
Physical properties: Smooth surface, wear resistance, the operating temperature range is generally -40℃ to 200℃, and special materials can adapt to higher or lower temperatures.

Structural support: used for steel structure building beams, bridges, trestle piles, and mine tunnel support frames, taking advantage of their high strength and durability.
Exterior facades and guardrails: used as building decoration materials, street light poles, and fences to resist erosion from harsh climates.
2. Power and communications
Cable protection: used to make cable trays, power towers, and substation equipment shells to ensure long-term and stable operation of the power system.
3. Petrochemical industry
Fluid transportation: used for offshore oilfield oil well pipes, oil pipelines, and chemical equipment (such as oil heaters and condensers), resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, and adapted to high pressure and corrosive media environments.
4. Agriculture and water conservancy
Irrigation and drainage: used to make channels, drainage pipes, and cattle pens, which are resistant to corrosion, have high tensile strength, and are adapted to humid environments.
5. Plumbing and firefighting
Historical applications: used widely in household water supply, heating pipes, and firefighting pipes, but due to water quality problems caused by rust on the inner wall, cold water pipes have been gradually replaced by PPR and stainless steel pipes.
Current applications: Hot water pipes are still in use, and some old residential hot water systems retain galvanized pipes.
6. Industry and special scenarios
Equipment manufacturing: used for coal distillation and washing oil exchangers, sports facilities, agricultural machinery, etc. to meet complex working conditions.
